The Town of Telluride is working with C&L to improve our sewer system using a trenchless repair method called Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) lining. This work will help fix old, cracked, or leaking sewer pipes without digging up streets or sidewalks.
What is CIPP lining?
CIPP lining is a process that repairs sewer pipes from the inside. A special liner soaked with resin is pushed into the old pipe. The liner is then turned inside out and hardened to form a new, smooth, and strong inner pipe. This makes the old pipe work like new again and keeps it from breaking down for many more years.
Why is this needed?
Many sewer pipes in Telluride’s historic neighborhoods are made of clay. Clay pipes are good, but over time, they can crack or break because of shifting ground, nearby construction, or tree roots. Instead of digging up the pipes, we’re using this non-invasive method to quickly restore them and keep our sewer system working well into the future.
What to expect:
Contractor: C&L
Work hours: 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM (overnight)
Water service: There may be temporary overnight water shutoffs or a notice to please discontinue water use while work is happening. C&L will provide advance hand-delivered notices to any affected homes or businesses, and a weekly schedule with scheduled outages or discontinue requests will be posted here in the "Schedule" sidebar and sent to Town of Telluride text subscribers.
We know construction can be an inconvenience. That’s why we’re working overnight and using trenchless technology to reduce impacts on our community. Thank you for your patience while we complete this important upgrade to protect and improve our sewer system.
