Regional Transportation Safety Action Plan (TSAP)
Project Overview
The Town of Telluride and the Town of Mountain Village are working together to develop a Safe Streets and Roads for All Transportation Safety Action Plan.
What is a Transportation Safety Action Plan?
A Transportation Safety Action Plan (TSAP) analyzes safety issues, community concerns, and crash patterns to develop projects and strategies to reduce or eliminate serious injuries and fatalities for all road users.
What is the goal of the Telluride - Mountain Village TSAP?
This plan will identify transportation investments and projects that are needed to make getting around the region safer and more comfortable and help prepare those projects for future federal funding opportunities. Additionally, the TSAP will highlight places where network gaps exist, with a focus on locations where safety concerns are most urgent.
The Telluride - Mountain Village TSAP will study safety risks across the entire transportation system, including specific sites and broader trends. The project team will use traffic, equity, and safety data along with community input to identify the region’s most important needs. The final plan will outline practical strategies and projects that address the key safety challenges in the area.
