Project Overview

The Town of Telluride and the Town of Mountain Village are working together to develop a Safe Streets and Roads for All Transportation Safety Action Plan.

What is a Transportation Safety Action Plan?

A Transportation Safety Action Plan (TSAP) analyzes safety issues, community concerns, and crash patterns to develop projects and strategies to reduce or eliminate serious injuries and fatalities for all road users.

What is the goal of the Telluride - Mountain Village TSAP?

This plan will identify transportation investments and projects that are needed to make getting around the region safer and more comfortable and help prepare those projects for future federal funding opportunities. Additionally, the TSAP will highlight places where network gaps exist, with a focus on locations where safety concerns are most urgent.

The Telluride - Mountain Village TSAP will study safety risks across the entire transportation system, including specific sites and broader trends. The project team will use traffic, equity, and safety data along with community input to identify the region’s most important needs. The final plan will outline practical strategies and projects that address the key safety challenges in the area.

How can I learn more or get involved?

We want to hear from you! Your local knowledge and experience are essential to this work.

  • Round 1 Lunch & Learn | Monday, January 26, 2026 | 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. (155 W Pacific Ave.) | Click here to watch the recording

Join us at Ah Haa School for the Arts on Thursday, April 2 for another Lunch & Learn.

Since our first Lunch & Learn in January, the project team has been hard at work incorporating what we learned to develop initial project locations for the Safe Streets and Roads for All TSAP. We wanted to thank everyone who has taken time to share input throughout the process so far. This feedback has helped shape the TSAP and identify transportation safety needs across the community. Based on this work, we have developed a set of initial transportation safety project locations and strategies aimed at reducing serious injuries and fatalities for all road users, and we want to know what you think.

Cant make it?

Your feedback will help shape the plan and guide improvements that make it safer and more comfortable to get around.
