Milling and Paving in Telluride
The Town of Telluride maintains and improves our streets each year through milling and paving projects. These projects keep our roads safe, extend pavement life, and improve driving, biking, and walking conditions.
What to Expect
Work is typically scheduled each spring and each fall and may include milling (removing old asphalt), paving, patching, and cleanup.
Standard work hours are weekdays, 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (with setup beginning as early as 7:00 a.m.).
Projects may cause temporary closures, traffic delays, detours, and parking restrictions. Crews coordinate with schools, special events, and utility work to minimize impacts.
2025 Fall Project Schedule
Start: Monday, September 29, 2025
End: Thursday, October 16, 2025
Major streets included: Colorado Avenue, Townsend Avenue, North and South Willow, North and South Davis, North Pine, North Aspen, and East Pandora.
Special note: Work on Colorado Avenue will be prioritized to ensure completion before the KOTO 50th Birthday Street Party on October 4, 2025.
Visit the Key Dates section to the right to find the daily schedule for milling through October 1. The paving schedule is expected to be announced by the end of the day on Wednesday, October 1, pending weather and asphalt availability.
Why Milling and Paving Matters
Maintaining streets with regular resurfacing helps:
