Voodoo Commercial Site Walk & Forum
Per Town Council’s direction, Town of Telluride staff will introduce a discussion regarding the commercial space at the Voodoo Affordable Housing Project at the Tuesday, May 14 regular meeting. The Town will host a public forum to gather feedback surrounding the desired use and selection process for the Voodoo commercial space on Monday, May 6, at 9 a.m.
In December 2022, the Telluride Town Council and Telluride Housing Authority authorized the construction of the Voodoo Affordable Housing Project, which, in addition to 27 housing units, includes approximately 3700 gross square feet of tenant-finish commercial space, including walls and bathrooms. The spaces are located on the ground floor of the building along the Willow St. and Pacific Ave. frontages and within the historic contributing-rated shed.
These commercial spaces are not “deed-restricted” to specific uses and would be suitable for office and retail activities for public, non-profit, or private tenants. The commercial spaces are not designed to support full restaurant, commercial kitchen, assembly, or childcare. Since the project's authorization, the historic shed portion of the commercial space has been designated for a regional Youth Hangout. The tenant-finished commercial space is slated for completion in September 2024.
