Chair 7/Carhenge Neighborhood Planning Project
What is the Chair 7/Carhenge Neighborhood Planning Project?
The Town of Telluride and Telluride Ski & Golf (TSG) are collaborating to continue the development of critical infrastructure, commercial space, and an additional bed base in the Chari 7/Carhenge base area. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was recently executed between the Town and TSG to facilitate land planning and community engagement services for the Chair 7 Neighborhood. As part of the planning for this area, the entities have engaged with Design Work Shop and CCY Architects – both of which are nationally renowned planning and design firms that work extensively in Colorado and the Telluride Region.
This strategic project aims to align with the community and housing development goals outlined in the Town of Telluride’s Southwest Area Plan, with a specific focus on the Carhenge site, Tract Y, Shandoka, and Lot L. Building upon the Southwest Area Plan’s recommendations, the Chair 7 Neighborhood Plan will adopt an integrated approach to the Carhenge site and the Telluride Ski and Golf land surrounding Chair 7.
How can I learn more or get involved?
The Town and TSG hosted hybrid meetings at the Ah Haa School for the Arts Launch Pad in March and July. The meetings allowed neighboring HOAs, stakeholders, and the public to understand the background of the Town and TSG's MOU agreement, review the goals of the Southwest Area Plan, and review the first iteration of the draft plan to offer feedback.

Upcoming Meetings
The Town and TSG plan to host the next round of public outreach meetings soon to present a refined draft plan based on feedback from the July 9th and August 27th meetings. The plan will include preliminary layouts and design concepts for input and feedback from neighbors, key stakeholders, and the public.
